All By Myself

As I was cleaning yesterday I came across this...

This is a big deal for us as Rylar usually only wants to take things apart or undo them. He is really starting to make some connections and think about things. This toy has been around for ages and I know why. This is by far Rylar's favorite toy right now. Whether he is banging them together, wearing them on his wrist or using them to slide on the floor. He LOVES IT!! He always has at least one in his hand 75% of the day!

Pictures

Sorry it's been so long since Ive put pictures up but it takes some time and we all know this is scarce these days...And of course its not working correctly right now so I will have to add some later..but I promise I will do it soon.

One, Two, Three, Four

One...the number of little munchkins we have and almost his age!
Two...Before we received news of the biggest and best surprise of our lives we thought that we would like our children to be two years apart so they could be close friends...that means that we would need to get pregnant again in the next 6 yes SIX months!!...Oh man, totally not happening..we have so much going on with just the one that I couldn't think about being ready to try for another in the next 6 months. Doubling everything
Three...the number of short months before my little baby sees his first Birthday!! We all know that this time flies but seriously..WOW...He won't be my little baby for much longer. I am so glad that I have been able to truly cherish this short time while he's little.
Four...The number of full nights sleep Rylar has graced us with without us needing to get up and take care of him. I know for some babies we are doing good to get 4 nights in almost 9 months, but it surly doesn't seem that way. And this also helps to reinforce our feelings about #2 so soon.

What a day!

Well today was an exciting day! I finally can say Rylar is officially getting his first tooth! I knew this day would eventually come where he would look more like a little boy and less like my baby! And of course as every other parent knows what fun comes along with getting teeth, my poor baby. Danny asked if we have to go through this everytime he gets a new tooth.
And other big news... the bank accepted our offer on the house!! "We won" If all goes well we will be home owners! It's going to be so great!! We have very big plans and are excited about this decision!
I am a quarter of a century old today. weird. Everyone says "it's all going to go by so fast".
What a day!
pictures soon

So many changes

There are so many new things going on in the Copa household I haven't gotten on to blog cause I new it would take awhile...
So just a couple of quick things cause I don't have very much time these days... Everyday seems to bring something new. Rylar changes into more of a little boy each and everyday!! He loves to crawl under things, through things, climb on top of things..he is into everything and pulling up on everything! He can get himself completly out of a seat when he is strapped in and then climb back in when ever he so desires! Rylar is also very fearless!! It is only a matter of time before he is walking because he has no fear of letting go. He lets go and reaches for objects 2-3 ft away from him without fear of what he will be falling into! Needless to say this gives mommy a heart attack! And when he wants down from standing he simply lets go and falls on his butt. We have many bumps and falls on a daily basis as i'm sure many do at this age.
He seems to be understanding us more and more and you can see mannerisms that i'm sure he will continue to have throughout his adult life... Being a parent and watching a child grow is truly one of the most amazing things in life!
Also making daddy VERY happy...Rylar now consistently holds his own bottle and can feed himself!! YAY It has taken awhile for this one since he loves to cover his face, pull his left ear and rub his eyes when he eats. I think it is the cutest thing ever! But now he has learned to hold the bottle with one hand and do all of the above with the other. I know it usually takes awhile to be able to tell but we are pretty sure Rylar will be right handed since he favors that one more than the other.
And last but not least, we have put an offer on another house and should find out soon if we get it..this of course is very exciting and stressful all at the same time so I try not to let it consume me...

Adding words to the list...

I became aware about a week or so ago that Rylar has learned new words. When he's sitting in his highchair eating you can ask him to "sit back please" and he does!!! Of course he needs many reminders as we go along because he is very easily distracted, but he understands what we are saying!!! You ask him and he does it!! It is sooo amazing watching him become a little person. It becomes more apparent each day all the little things he is picking up. Which is good and bad of course..

Busy Busy Day

We had a fairly eventful day yesterday, especially with how things have been lately with the weather... It started out exciting when Rylar didn't wake up until 5 am in the morning for the first time!! I was in shock. Then the excitement continued on when we got preapproved for a home loan and Rylar officially became a USAA member!! How cute!
Then when I was getting dressed I put Rylar in the middle of the big king sized bed and stepped in the closet to get changed like I have done many times. When not even a minute had passed and I heard a thump and crying! Rylar had fallen off the bed and bonked his head!!! He escaped with just a small bump. I felt soo bad!! But of course a few minutes later he forgot all about it. I am actually surprised that it has taken almost 7 1/2 months to fall off of something considering how often he tries.
Then things were made better when we went to the park with Daddy, Aunt Kim, cousins Zach and Daniel and Diesel. It was such a gorgeous day and there were lots of kids playing. Rylar had never seen so many and was quite the observer.
And finally we came back home and he took his first afternoon nap at 5 and welcomed Nana and Papa and the puppies not too long after. What a busy day! And on a side note Rylar's crawling is improving..he can make a few steps before he falls over. But still no teeth, though everyone thinks it will be soon..we'll see.

Little Boys..

Well we had another first yesterday!! After Rylar takes a bath Daddy dries him with the blowdryer, this is something we have done since he was born that he loves and looks forward too. And during the ritual Rylar found his little pee pee!! It's so funny and cute... My little man has found his little man... Daddy was worried about how rough he is, but I assured him that all little boys are that way and he will figure it out.

Also on a side note...we just got some sleet...in April?! Need I say more

And Nana and Papa are coming to play this weekend! We always look forward to their visit and have lots of fun while they are here!!

For the first time ever....Rylar didn't need to eat in the middle of the night!!! He still woke up a couple of times to make some noise and play with his aquarium, but not to eat! I'm sure this won't be a permanent thing yet but it's a nice start! He's turning into such a big boy right infront of our eyes!

Only Once!!

Well for the first time ever Rylar only woke up once last night!! Of course he was wide awake when I went in there but he went back down without any fuss!! What a big boy..maybe this will become a regular thing!!

He's basically crawling these days, he can get anywhere and everywhere pretty fast! It's still a sloppy crawl but he definatly knows what he's doing. And you cannot leave him unattended for even a minute or he will be into something, our baby proofing days have begun!

Still no teeth! we keep wondering when we will see them! Anytime we have a fussy day I keep thinking they could be near... As far as the nursing goes as long as they want to wait is fine with me. Plus his little gummy smile is so cute!

I guess that's all that's been going on these days..It's been so rainy we haven't gotten out too much..

Rockin and a Rollin

Up until very recently I was under the impression that it would be awhile longer before our little man made himself mobile but I have since learned that isn't the case at all...Within the last week Rylar has gone from sometimes getting on his knees to a funny "crawl". He will do anything and everything he can to get where he wants to go. And fear is definatly not holding him back, he will leap forward any split second you give him. He understands what he has to do with his arms and legs it's just a matter of putting it all together now. So it's really only a matter of days and it will be time to seriously baby proof!! We will keep you updated on that one!!
